What We Do？
Driven by a passion to preserve the dark night sky, we organize public welfare programs, educational lectures, and joint campaigns with official and non-governmental organizations to raise awareness about light pollution.
Volunteer Researcher, Zooniverse
Sept. 2024-Present
As a volunteer researcher for Zooniverse from September 2024 to present, I have completed 211 hours of citizen‑science work across six astronomy projects including Dark Energy Explorers, Space Warps, Cosmic Collisions and Sunspot Detectives. I classified real astrophysical datasets such as galaxy images, gravitational‑lensing signatures and solar activity records to support global large‑scale astronomical research. This experience cultivated my skills in pattern recognition, data interpretation and scientific reasoning, while deepening my understanding of how high‑quality night‑sky conditions underpin astronomical observations.

On August 28, 2026, we held an outreach event at the Guangming Community Service Center, using an entertaining and engaging approach to show junior high school students the beauty of a starry night sky.

I photograph the night because city light has pushed the stars away. I want to catch what remains — a meteor, a stretch of the Milky Way, the quiet of a meadow after midnight — and pass that light on. To people who seldom look up. To children who have not yet seen the Galaxy. To those whose eyes cannot take in light, but who should never be left outside the universe.
I conducted a survey on light pollution.
Public Awareness Survey
To understand public familiarity with light pollution and dark-sky conservation, we conducted a survey of 205 individuals, primarily in Guangdong Province, China.
1. Limited Awareness:
While 84% of respondents believe organizations should act to reduce light pollution, 91% are unfamiliar with concepts like the International Dark Sky Community.
2. Recognized Severity:
Participants rated the severity of light pollution in Chinese cities, particularly in Guangdong, at an average of 63 out of 100. However, only half expressed willingness to actively participate in reduction efforts.
3.Understanding vs. Action:
About 43% of participants are familiar with light pollution, but only 5% consider it a priority issue.
4. Observation Interest:
Stargazing remains a niche interest, with only 17.5% of respondents expressing a preference for such activities.
